Anne’s background is in elementary education, educational television and most recently freelance writing. She grew up in Burlington and Williston and graduated from Middlebury College before moving to New York City. She then spent 12 years in England and Jerusalem, studying Pilates in both settings.
One memorable moment came early on when, after exactly two one-hour classes, Anne’s husband noticed her improved posture and stance and said: “What have you been doing? You look great; you’re standing like a dancer!” She also regained a lost half-inch of height, flexibility and strength, and will tell anyone who’ll listen about the benefits of Pilates for anyone, but especially for “women of a certain age”, like herself!
Anne lives in Winooski, where she loves to work on her recently purchased house, read, tend her garden and feed friends and family. She is also a habitual cruciverbalist (crossword puzzle devotee).

Katie received her masters in physical therapy from Quinnipiac University in 2005. She moved to Vermont soon after graduation and quickly fell in love Burlington. In 2006, she was introduced to Pilates and quickly added it to her regiment of running, skiing, and strength training.
Katie completed the rehab curriculum through Polestar Pilates in April 2008 and has enjoyed incorporating the principles of Pilates into her patient treatment. She enjoys working with a wide variety of patients ranging from those with sports injuries, to chronic pain, as well as the geriatric population. Katie is a firm believer that anyone can benefit from Pilates by creating awareness and a better understanding of the “mind body” connection. |
