Often called the ultimate mind-body exercise,
professional dancers, athletes, those recovering from
injury or surgery, and everyone in between have
utilized Pilates to improve their health and fitness.
Though its timeless approach to full body movement
has only recently gained mass popularity, the Pilates
conditioning program dates back to the 1920s.
The original sequence of 34 mat exercises develops
core strength, flexibility, control, awareness and
coordination — and the addition of the specially
designed Pilates apparatus of gentle resistance
even further challenges movement and balances
the body.

Private Sessions
The most effective way to experience Pilates exercise is through one-on-one
private sessions. You will increase body awareness and begin to learn
the concepts important to successful movement. All of the apparatus are used in private sessions.
A minimum of three private sessions are required before participating
in group classes (instructor discretion).
Semi-Private Sessions
Once you have learned the basic principles of Pilates you may want to
continue sessions with a partner. As with private sessions, all apparatus
are used and program design is individualized.
Group Universal Reformer Classes
The Reformer is the primary piece of Pilates equipment. In group classes
you will experience 55 minutes of choreographed exercise. Classes will
be tailored to different exercise levels to accommodate all participants.
There is a maximum of six students per class.
Pilates Mat Classes
Traditional Pilates exercises in this 55-minute class are performed
without apparatus. You will learn the basic principles of Pilates in
the context of an invigorating exercise class.
Sport-specific Conditioning
Depending on the season, we will offer sport-specific exercise programs
designed to enhance athletic performance. In addition to scheduled group
classes, you may work one-on-one to develop an individualized program
specific to your sport. So, whether it is skiing, snowboarding, cycling,
swimming, running, hiking, or golf, for optimum performance, add Pilates
exercise to your training regimen!
